Our Story

It all started with bearded iris. A dozen, small, shriveled rhizomes that were supposed to blossom into large, ruffled, purple blooms. My mother’s favorite color, and a special gift for her birthday.

I diligently weeded a 2 ft by 6 ft patch in our front yard—rather, our front weed patch. I researched exactly how to plant them, mounding the soil into little hills, tucking them in, and gave them a drink.

I was educated. I was ready. I was sadly not prepared for outdoor gardening…

Not a single iris came up. C’est la vie.

Fast forward, and our gardens are now graced with hundreds of bearded irises. Triumphantly, I can say they no longer elude me, but the first dozen were just the start of hundreds of lessons I’ve learned growing in tune with Mother Nature. From nurturing the soil to not using chemicals that are harmful to our environment, regenerative gardening has played a huge part in our story.

Our mission is for our work to benefit the land, and for our blooms to be safe to handle, so everything is grown organically without the use of harmful herbicides or pesticides.
